Do’s and Don’ts

These elements are great on their own, but the brand is built through the way they all work together. Clear message, flexible grid, can’t lose.

Grid

Manto uses a flexible, 12-column grid system. This grid is easily adaptable to a variety of applications.

The grid should be scaled to the width of the composition, with a minimum border that’s 4% of the composition width and gutters that are 2%.

Do’s and Don’ts

While the Manto design system is straight-forward, composition can get tricky. Here are some common do’s and don’ts to help.

Always align type to the grid

Don’t break the grid.

Photography doesn’t need to align with the grid, but it’s a useful tool to maintain balance in your composition.

Don’t position or crop photography in a way that brings attention to the grid.

The Manto logo should always align to the grid. If you’re using the Manto logo for something like the website or app, the Manto logo should be in the top right corner or top center.

Don’t arbitrarily position the Manto logo. Its placement should feel measured and considered based on the composition.
